About Me
HI! I am the Team Leader for District 2 of the Indiana Div. of Mental Health & Addiction-Disaster Management and the Leader of the Indiana K-9 Crisis Response Group. In the photo, I am with my dog, Nellie, a 16 month-old border collie/shepherd mix, at an event at Notre Dame. The crisis dogs respond in the aftermath of disasters to support survivors and first responders. Our first K-9 Crisis Dog Camp will be in early October at Camp Atterbury. If you are interested in attending, please send a message.

The Camp will run October 9th to 11th. Cindy Ehlers, founder of Animal Assisted Crisis Response (AACR), from Eugene, OR will be the featured presenter. Cindy has over 10 years of crisis response with her dog Tikva and she has been featured on the Today Show for her work at Northern Illinois University after the shooting incident. Other speakers will address K-9 nutritional support, DogaMassage, and Adv. 1st Aid for K-9 responders. Training and lodging are provided at no cost to IN residents. Hi Jeanie,
Your camp sounds very interesting. My first experience with crisis dogs was during my hurricane deployments in 2004 and 2005. They were very interesting. Send me more info on this please. sable@ligtel.com |
